ANDROMEDA Begins Recording New Album

January 16, 2007

Swedish progressive metal band ANDROMEDA has finished recording the drums for its fourth, as-yet-untitled album. "Yet again at a record breaking pace, Thomas Lejon nailed the nine new tracks in just a couple of days," the group writes on its web site. "As on the previous two albums, keyboard player Martin Hedin is recording and producing."

As previously reported, ANDROMEDA shot a live DVD, entitled "Playing off the Board", on October 31, 2006 at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland. ANDROMEDA's setlist concentrated on the band's "Chimera" album but also included tracks from older efforts — "Extension of the Wish" and "II=I". "It is going to be very cool," the band writes on its web site. "It contains a full live preformance by ANDROMEDA and lots of bonus video material, pictures etc."

As previously reported, ANDROMEDA filmed a video for the song "In the End" last year. The track comes off the band's latest CD, "Chimera", which was released in June 2006 via Massacre Records.

"Chimera" was produced by Martin Hedin in Sweden between March 2004 and January 2005 and features artwork by Niklas Sundin (DARK TRANQUILLITY).
